‘Joe vs. Carole’ Trailer: The Untold Origin of America’s Wildest Feud (VIDEO)

“It ain’t just about the cats. Spoiler alert,” Kate McKinnon’s Carole Baskin says in the official trailer for Peacock’s upcoming drama (premiering March 3).

Joe vs. Carole, the limited series created by Etan Frankel and also starring John Cameron Mitchell, offers a comprehensive dive into the lives of Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. “He is a psychopath who wishes me dead,” Carole says of Joe in the trailer. “We’ve been in an ongoing dispute with Joe,” her husband, Howard (Kyle MacLachlan) adds. And if someone wants you dead, why not then go looking to buy a gun “that will stop a hitman in his tracks”?

The new preview also offers a look at Joe welcoming people to his exotic animal show, Joe and Carole’s personal lives, and much more. Watch it below.

Joe vs Carole is a wild ride. It’s a fun and rich journey into the story of people who live very extreme lives. When I took on this project a year and a half ago, I found Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin to be utterly fascinating, and this crazy tale about two big cat lovers quickly became an important story for me to tell. I hope that when people watch Joe vs Carole just maybe they’ll see these people that they thought they knew in a brand-new way,” says Frankel, who also serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Based on the Wondery podcast, Joe Exotic: Tiger King, hosted and reported by Robert Moor, Peacock’s limited series follows big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin who sets out to shut down Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel’s venture upon learning he’s breeding and using his bag cats for profit. A rivalry ensues, “but Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy,” the logline teases. “The results prove dangerous.”

The eight-episode series also stars Brian Van Holt, Sam Keeley, Nat Wolff, Marlo Kelly, William Fichtner, Dean Winters, and David Wenham.

Joe vs. Carole, Series Premiere, Thursday, March 3, Netflix
